hello reddit! my father was recruited into a mlm company (Market America) by his friends. after sending him links and articles and telling him about how it is all a scam, he is still being extremely stubborn and chooses to listen to his friends instead of his family.
arguments and screaming matches would arise if we bring it up to him and i am afraid he is losing money to this stupid scam company. for context, i am still a student and my siblings have jobs but their combined salary is not yet enough for just my family to survive on. i also come from an asian family.
he recently participated in a seminar(scaminar) and told us to support him by buying the products they offer. he had already been taking their nonsensical “health” supplements and have spent a sum on them, insisting that they work(THEY DONT). in my country, MLM is totally illegal and those that have participated in these activities can end up in jail so reporting it to the police is not an option.
any advice and suggestions would greatly help as i do not want to see my father waste his hard-earned money. i feel extremely lost and frustrated.
