William White admitted guilt on April 16th, 2024, to a single count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. This plea stems from a larger federal indictment targeting operators of cryptocurrency scams, including JetCoin, EmpowerCoin, and ECoinPlus, which began in early 2022.
White’s guilty plea was formally entered during a hearing that followed his earlier indication to the court on April 1st of his intention to do so. The terms of his plea agreement specify a potential maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment, three years of supervised release, and court-ordered restitution and financial penalties.
The U.S. Probation Department has been tasked with preparing a Presentence Investigation Report by October 16th, 2024. This report will inform the sentencing judge’s decision.
Two co-defendants, Mardy Eger and Greg Aggesen, have also pleaded guilty in connection with the same scheme. The remaining defendant, Dwayne Golden, has maintained his innocence and is proceeding toward trial. Golden’s trial date is now set for April 14th, 2025, following a scheduling order issued on April 23rd, 2024.
White’s sentencing is scheduled for April 23rd, 2025. Dwayne Golden changed his plea to guilty in September 2024, resolving all defendants in the case.
