Joe Tessin co-founded uThriv, a multi-level marketing company operating in nutrition and personal development, which launched in late May from Georgia. Tessin serves as the company's President.
Tessin’s corporate biography states he spent his adult life building organizations, leading teams, and coaching individuals. He also consulted with executive management teams. His most recent role was VP of Sales for a network marketing company, a position that reportedly rekindled his industry passion and led to uThriv's creation. Tessin built several network marketing teams over the last decade and was a top income earner in two companies.
Research shows Tessin was involved with VizConnect, a company that marketed a $50 QR code and video hosting package. VizConnect launched in late 2013 and declined shortly after. An overly complicated compensation plan hampered its growth.
In September 2013, a VizConnect press release credited Tessin as an Executive-Director. By January 2014, he joined VizConnect's management team. A January 13 press release announced his appointment to the leadership team, effective that year.
The release identified Tessin as a multi-level marketing veteran. It noted his prior role as CEO and coach for Better Days Group, a company focused on personal one-on-one coaching, group coaching, personal development workshops, and team development for various organizations. Tessin had consulted and served as an Executive Director for VizConnect’s sales team members since early 2013.
Tessin outlined his vision for the VizConnect sales force in 2014. "We are going to improve communication internally amongst our leadership team and externally with our members," he said. He added, "We are going to enhance our products with a focus on building our business, and I will continue to be actively engaged in the field to build our business."
One month after these statements, Tessin launched uThriv. His co-founder and Vice-President at uThriv, Brian Dee, is also credited as VizConnect’s Secretary and Chief Sales Officer.
The two companies maintain close relations. A VizConnect press release, dated June 3, 2014, announced a partnership with uThriv. The release stated VizConnect would provide access to its mobile video marketing products through a white label agreement with uThriv.
