USI-Tech co-founder Horst Jicha has violated the terms of his release and gone on the run.

As per an October 10th letter to the court from the DOJ;

The defendant apparently tampered with his ankle bracelet on Friday, October 4, 2024, and has absconded in violation of his pretrial conditions.

Pretrial Services alerted the government approximately 12 hours after Mr. Jicha’s bracelet ceased working.

The government understands that Pretrial Services sought an arrest warrant that evening.

Prior to fleeing, Jicha was scheduled to face trial in January 2025.

Jicha’s status and current whereabouts are unknown. The court has requested the DOJ file a Status Letter by October 23rd.

Of note is Jicha was released on a $5 million bond. The bond was secured by a $1 million check Jicha signed and co-signed by Ewa and Celine Jicha.

Ewa Jicha is Horst’s ex-wife, Celine his daughter. As part of the terms of his release, Ewa Jicha was appointed Horst’s third-party custodian.

Whether Ewa and Celine Jicha have also disappeared is unclear.
