Jon Anthony Astore launched Unittus in late 2011 from Florida, introducing a social network with a $10 monthly membership. The company began operations in 2012, aiming to succeed where previous MLM social network hybrids failed to attract users outside their business opportunities. Many such ventures struggle to gain genuine users not tied to the business side, often becoming simple recruitment schemes without true retail service.
Astore serves as Unittus's Founder, Chairman, and CEO. He also founded and operates 21st Century International, a strategy consulting and coaching business active for over 25 years. However, Astore's prior involvement in multi-level marketing includes the AutoXTen scam. He joined AutoXTen under the username "gojoin" and was credited with recruiting 441 members to the now-defunct scheme by July 2011.
Unittus functions as a social network. Its core product is membership to the network itself, which members must market. The uFind membership level acts as Unittus's retail product, costing $10 per month. Individuals holding a uFind membership cannot participate in the social network's MLM business side. Unittus also contracts with ZenPrint to run a third-party merchandise store, "Shop Unittus." This store does not appear connected to the Unittus business opportunity or its compensation plan.
The Unittus social network offers a combination of social, career, and leisure interactions for its members. The platform does not present new or unique features compared to other social networks.
The Unittus business opportunity includes 24 distinct membership ranks, each with specific qualification requirements. The initial ranks include:
Advisor: Requires a minimum of 5 Personal Sales Volume (PSV) every four pay-periods.
Manager: Requires the recruitment of at least four paid Unittus members.
