Mr. Raj Mani, not Navneet Khosla, filed the criminal Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Speak Asia in the Mumbai High Court. His lawyers requested a week to withdraw the petition, a request granted by the judge. The PIL is scheduled for withdrawal next week.

Aman Azad, associated with the All India Speak Asia Panelist Association (AISPA), announced this development. Pro-Speak Asia Facebook pages and blogs quickly circulated the news as fact. Questions immediately arose as to why it would take an entire week to withdraw the PIL if Raj Mani truly intended to do so. His advocate, Vinod S. Chate, could have handled it immediately, especially after a week of prior discussion.

Speak Asia and its financially invested supporters claim the PIL is no longer necessary due to a recently formed mediation committee. This narrative overlooks a key distinction. Previous withdrawn PILs were civil in nature. They focused on demands for money and allowing Speak Asia to restart operations. The Lahoti Committee might make such civil petitions redundant.

Raj Mani's PIL, however, is criminal. It seeks to hold Speak Asia legally responsible for operating an obvious Ponzi scheme between May 2010 and May 2011. The formation of the Lahoti Committee has no bearing on these criminal allegations. Speak Asia and its supporters continue to invent narratives to fit their agenda.

The company has also worked to control information. The primary Facebook group for Speak Asia, "SpeakAsian Powers," recently banned mentions of any blogs not under its direct control. Administrator Manish Jain issued a "LAST AND FINAL WARNING" against promoting other blogs or companies. AISPA Secretary Ashok Bahirwani informed panelists nearly a week ago that he would no longer discuss "the SAOL matter on phone." Despite orders for panelists to only trust official Speak Asia blogs, the company's Blogspot has not updated in almost two weeks. Meanwhile, Speak Asia CEOs Harendar Kaur and Manoj Kumar, along with COO Tarak Bajpai, have not appeared publicly in months.
