Satish Pal, a key accomplice in the Speak Asia scam, was arrested this week, confessing to a major role in the fraudulent operations. His apprehension follows the recent arrest of Ram Sumiran Pal, the alleged mastermind behind the scheme that defrauded investors of an estimated 2200 crore rupees.

Indian authorities questioned Satish Pal, who admitted to playing a significant part in Speak Asia's business, working directly with Ram Sumiran Pal. This admission starkly contrasts with his previous claims. In an October 11, 2011 email to this publication, Satish Pal asserted that an article about Speak Asia was "false, fake, defamatory, disreputable, baseless, scandalous and unjustified."

At the time, Satish Pal threatened legal action if the content was not removed. He wrote that he would "be constrained to intimate, approach, seek redressal from all available forums including but not limited to seeking forceful restraint, stoppage of your website, cancellation of domain etc. Needless to say both civil and criminal." The publication made one minor correction unrelated to the Pal brothers, but otherwise kept the content online.

Police state Satish Pal began working with the Pal brothers after moving to Mumbai in 2007, joining their company, Seven Rings. When Speak Asia collapsed in 2011, allegedly cheating investors of 2200 crore, he fled Mumbai and hid in Najafgarh. He then traveled to Malaysia three times to avoid arrest.

Satish Pal used his share of the scam money to purchase Web Excel Solutions, a company registered in Malaysia. This acquisition allowed him to obtain a work permit in Malaysia. He maintained regular contact with prominent Speak Asia members. In 2012, Ram Sumiran Pal stayed with Satish Pal in Malaysia for over a month to evade authorities, with Satish Pal providing all logistical support.

His 2011 communication explicitly denied any connection to Ram Sumiran Pal. "I am nowhere related, connected with Mr. Ram Sumiran Pal," he stated. "Being acquainted doesn't mean relation or association." He further claimed, "I have never been part of speak asia, I am at no point of time have been associates with speak asia, I have not been franchisee or even bought any membership of it."

He concluded his earlier denial by stating, "I have also been never involved in any surveys, promotions or in any way whatsoever."
