TelexFree recently updated its promotional materials, removing direct mention of the $20 weekly payment promised to affiliates who buy a $299 AdCentral account. This change comes despite the company's underlying compensation plan remaining unaltered, creating confusion about the reliability of payouts for its participants.
The core of TelexFree's operation involves affiliates purchasing an AdCentral account for $299. In return, the company commits to paying these affiliates $20 each week for 52 weeks. Bulk purchases of these accounts reportedly increase the weekly payout. Recruiters also earn commissions, receiving $20 for each new affiliate who buys an AdCentral account, or $100 if the recruit purchases a larger "AdCentral Family" lot.
The origin of these weekly $20 payments remains unaddressed by TelexFree. Until last month, the company advertised its AdCentral opportunity with text stating, "Through a ADCENTRAL, that you geot (sic) for the amount of US$299 (annually), the promoter will receive US$20 each week." The current advertisement reads: "EARN MONEY FROM ADVERTISING TECHNOLOGY VOIP TELEXFREE. Through a ADCENTRAL. Membership U$50 (Partner) + ADCentral Kit U$289.00 (ADCentral + 10 accounts of 99Telexfree) = U$339.00 (Annual). The promoter receives a 99Telexfree account for US$49.90 every week s/he posts 7 different ads at free ad websites on the Internet, Monday through Sunday."
Despite the revised public-facing text, TelexFree's internal compensation plan still lists the $20 weekly payout. The company's website HTML title also continues to display "Make money by posting ads." Documents obtained show that the TelexFree affiliate contract, written in Portuguese, does not explicitly guarantee any $20 weekly payment to its participants.
TelexFree describes a process where affiliates supposedly buy VOIP accounts from the company and then sell them back to receive their weekly $20 payment. This process also requires affiliates to post daily ads online. However, this described compliance mechanism does not align with how affiliates often present the opportunity. Affiliate Leslie Mebane, for example, directly stated, "Telexfree guarantees payments! Telexfree the company that delivers a guaranteed income. GUARANTEED PAYMENTS! Its is hard to resist talking about a company that guarantees you payments."
