Joel Therien, founder of Global Virtual Opportunities (GVO), launched Pure Leverage, his latest multi-level marketing scheme. He promises distributors 100% commissions for recruiting people into internet marketing training programs, a dream he has sold since 2009.
GVO's history shows a consistent pattern. Therien regularly cycles through new business opportunities. Previous ventures include HostThenProfit, focused on web hosting recruitment, and The 7 Minute Workout, which promoted fitness. Each time, Therien repackages core internet marketing tools, applies a new compensation plan, and his existing distributor network begins recruiting anew.
Pure Leverage follows this same approach.
The platform centers its pitch on GVO's Elite Coaching Program, valued by the company at $297 per month. Recruits hear promises of learning to gain "18 paid signups into your primary business everyday" without cold calling. GVO claims "attraction marketing" teaches subscribers to generate "predictable monthly and residual income for life" and filter for "the right type" of team members.
That core offering bundles with five additional GVO services. Easy Lead Flow, priced at $49.95 monthly, provides pre-written email sequences. A Video Email Service, costing $20 monthly, allows distributors to pitch prospects through automated video messages. Turbo Traffic Generation, at $47 monthly, claims to deliver "an endless supply of hot qualified leads." The Live Meeting Room software enables video conferencing and presentations. GVO includes their Video Email Service to complete the toolkit.
The mathematical reality for participants is stark. Entry-level distributors face a monthly cost of approximately $435 just to access the advertised tools. This cost excludes inventory purchases, advertising expenses, or potential losses from recruiting family and friends. GVO relies on these recruits to purchase the same package, then recruit others below them. This structure forms a classic pyramid, where only individuals at the top earn sustainable income.
What distinguishes Pure Leverage from previous GVO iterations is not the products but the advertised commission structure. The fundamentals remain unchanged. Therien bets his existing distributor network will stay loyal enough to market another rebranding of the same training materials.
History suggests he is correct. The distributors who profited from HostThenProfit and The 7 Minute Workout typically do not question the next opportunity. They have already committed to the playbook and invested in the lifestyle Therien promotes.
Pure Leverage offers no new substance. It combines repackaged GVO tools with promises unlikely to materialize for 99% of participants. The question remains how long Therien can maintain this cycle before regulatory action. Distributors pay approximately $435 monthly for access to these tools.
