LocalAdClick describes itself as a leading global network of portals, a high-tech advertising platform, and a provider of e-commerce solutions. It claims to run i-SUPPLY for e-commerce, a local search directory, and ViSim.com, a social network for Baby Boomers. However, an examination of these claims reveals significant discrepancies. The company registered its primary domains, localadclick.com and localadclick.net, on June 25, 2011, with ownership details kept private.
The portal i-SUPPLY, touted on the LocalAdClick website, does not appear to exist as described. Searches for related domains like 'isupplyco.com' lead to an Ohio delivery service, while 'isupply.com' belongs to a market research firm, IHS Inc. Neither entity shows any connection to LocalAdClick.
ViSim.com, presented as a social networking hub from 1999, also presents a false front. A visit to visim.com reveals it is the domain for Visionology Interactive Media, a design studio with no social networking component and no link to LocalAdClick.
These findings leave only LocalAdClick's local business directory as a potential offering. The directory's advertising inquiry process raises further questions. It lists no prices. Instead, businesses are asked to provide YouTube links, a budget, an email address, and a mobile number.
This unusual setup suggests that LocalAdClick may contact businesses later to solicit payment for placing their YouTube videos on its site. One quick review of LocalAdClick.com shows a Nike advertisement, visibly taken from YouTube, uploaded by an unassociated user.
LocalAdClick holds no commercial agreement with Nike. The company's use of random YouTube videos also contradicts its claims of delivering "local advertising to geo-targeted consumers." The process lacks transparency and commercial legitimacy.
