Jeunesse distributors who lost money on starter kits or unsold inventory have until December 31, 2018, to file a claim in the company's class-action settlement. This deadline follows a preliminary approval of a $2.5 million settlement reached in a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) class-action lawsuit.

A dedicated website, managed by third-party administrator Epiq, provides details for potential claimants. To be eligible, individuals must have registered as a Jeunesse distributor between January 1, 2010, and September 13, 2018. They must also have purchased a starter kit and incurred losses, or bought Jeunesse products they were unable to sell, leading to financial deficits.

Affected individuals have several options regarding the settlement. Submitting a claim form, either online or by mail, is the only way to receive a payment. This form must be postmarked or submitted electronically by December 31, 2018. Alternatively, individuals can choose to exclude themselves from the settlement. This action forfeits any payment but preserves the right to pursue separate legal action against Jeunesse concerning the claims addressed in this case. Requests for exclusion must be postmarked by November 26, 2018.

Another option is to object to the settlement. Those who choose this path will remain part of the class but can formally inform the court of their disapproval. Objections must be sent to three distinct addresses and postmarked by November 26, 2018. Class members also have the option to attend a hearing on January 8, 2019, to voice their opinions on the settlement's fairness. Failure to take any action, referred to as 'Do Nothing,' results in no payment and relinquishes all rights related to the lawsuit's claims.

The $2.5 million settlement has received initial court approval. A final decision is anticipated after a fairness hearing scheduled for early 2019. A significant portion of the settlement, approximately $1 million, is allocated for legal fees and administrative expenses. This leaves roughly $1.5 million available for distribution among eligible claimants.

The settlement website offers online claim forms and further information for those impacted. Legal advice is not provided on the site. Individuals with specific questions about filing a claim should consult with an attorney.
