Jamberry Nails, a multi-level marketing company selling adhesive nail covers, launched in January 2012, crediting three sisters as its founders. The company markets itself as a new direct sales opportunity based in Utah. However, a different founding story emerged from earlier records.

Adam Hepworth, CEO and founder of Bluehouse Ski Company, also claimed to found Jamberry Nails in October 2010. Hepworth's LinkedIn profile lists him as the lead product engineer for Bluehouse, a Salt Lake-based ski manufacturer. He also lists Jamberry Nails as an interest on his Facebook page. The Jamberry Nails website does not mention Hepworth.

Both jamberrynails.com and jamberrynails.net have private registration information, obscuring ownership details. The .com domain was registered in August 2010, aligning with Hepworth's founding claim. The .net domain was registered in December 2011, closer to the sisters' January 2012 launch. The .com domain now redirects to the .net domain, suggesting the two entities have merged or were always connected. The company website provides no explanation for these conflicting origin stories.

Jamberry Nails sells "nail shields," which are heat-activated adhesive nail covers. Each sheet costs $15 and can cover 2-3 sets of fingers or toes. The company states these shields last two weeks on fingernails and 6-8 weeks on toenails.

The Jamberry Nails compensation plan features eight membership ranks. Product Volume (PV) equals 65% of retail sales volume. Group Volume (GV) includes the total volume from a distributor and their downline.

The ranks and their qualifications are: Associate Consultant (300 PV, 900 GV); Senior Consultant (300 PV, 900 GV, 2 personally enrolled distributors); Star Consultant (500 PV, 2,000 GV, 4 personally enrolled distributors); Director (500 PV, 6,000 GV, 6 personally enrolled distributors, 2 of whom are Star Consultant or higher); Senior Director (500 PV, 15,000 GV, 8 personally enrolled distributors, 4 of whom are Star Consultant or higher); Star Director (1,000 PV, 25,000 GV, 12 personally enrolled distributors, 8 of whom are Star Consultant or higher); Super Star Director (1,000 PV, 50,000 GV, 24 personally enrolled distributors, 12 of whom are Star Consultant or higher); Platinum Director (1,000 PV, 80,000 GV, 40 personally enrolled distributors, 25 of whom are Star Consultant or higher).

Jamberry Nails pays out a 30% commission on all retail sales. The residual income component of the compensation plan uses a unilevel structure. A unilevel structure places a distributor at the top, with personally recruited members forming their level 1.
