iWowWe initially offered video email and "video meeting" products as a single package for $69.95 upfront and $20 monthly when reviewed in September 2011. This was the only way to acquire iWowWe's products, and it included access to the compensation plan. No actual retail customer option existed.
The company's matrix-based compensation plan meant affiliates primarily recruited other affiliates. Commissions came from these monthly membership fees.
In September 2011, iWowWe changed its compensation plan. It split the product package into a Basic offering ($75 upfront, $20 monthly) and a Premium offering ($195 upfront, $20 monthly). The compensation matrix expanded from 3x7 to 3x9, allowing for additional legs. New membership ranks were also introduced.
Again, no distinction separated retail customers from affiliates. Both Basic and Premium packages provided access to the compensation plan. The new membership ranks relied on recruitment metrics, and these ranks significantly affected affiliate commissions. They formed the core of the updated plan.
The matrix-based compensation plan proved ineffective for iWowWe. The company abandoned it in March 2013. This marked the third iteration of the iWowWe compensation plan tracked by this publication. The company introduced a new binary-based compensation model.
One persistent issue from iWowWe's prior compensation plans concerned the separation of retail customers and affiliates. The company addressed this by adding a $20 annual affiliate fee. The exact benefits affiliates receive beyond earning commissions are unclear. However, the fee should provide a clearer count of actual customers versus affiliates.
iWowWe also changed its product offerings. The company eliminated the Basic package. Now, only one product package remains, priced at $195 upfront and $25 per month. This package includes iWowWe's "entire suite" of services, encompassing both video email and video conferencing.
The new plan offers a Direct Referral Commission. An iWowWe affiliate earns a 25% commission on the upfront cost of any product pack sold to either an affiliate or a customer. iWowWe rounds this commission up to $50.
Affiliates can also earn Eagle Club Commissions. For every four new product packages an iWowWe affiliate sells in a given month, they receive $100. Sales to both affiliates and customers count towards this total.
iWowWe's shift away from the matrix model led to the adoption of a binary pairing system. This structure places an affiliate at the top, with two legs extending below them. These two legs establish a left team and a right team. iWowWe tracks all product sales within this new structure.
