Vincent Ortega Jr., a co-founder of Internet Lifestyle Network, registered the company's website domain, internetlifestylenetwork.com, around mid-2013. His corporate entity, Vincent Ortega Jr LLC, maintains an address in Missouri, United States.
Ortega's blog described his involvement as an unexpected turn. He stated he was "living in my parent's home, working on the top of a plastic garage sale table…and the money just kept going down and down every month." He then cited co-founder Mark Hoverson and the Internet Lifestyle Network for changing his fortunes, claiming his business went "from failing around 2k/month, to Booming… making upwards of 50,000/month!"
Mark Hoverson served as Ortega's direct upline in several prior multi-level marketing ventures. Ortega detailed his own earlier life, noting he was a college baseball pitcher who "partied to much, I drank to much…" He admitted to throwing away a professional athlete career due to lack of passion.
His first significant income came from DJing, earning "about $250 a night." At 24, still living with his parents, he turned to the internet. He saw "Jonathan Budd and Mark Hoverson popping up all over the place" and trusted them, seeing how they were "making a killing" online.
Ortega met Hoverson through Jonathan Budd's "Futuristic Marketing," an internet marketing training program with an attached single-level affiliate plan. This venture focused on signing up people for its launch, but the opportunity later declined.
Hoverson then recruited Ortega into Global Resorts Network (GRN). Ortega recounted Hoverson's pitch: "'Hey Vince… why don’t you just roll your earnings into my GRN product and turn around and make more money?'" Internally, Ortega resisted. He felt compelled to agree, however, and "rolled all of that commission into Global Resorts Network and got the platinum package."
