Deirdre L. McCormick is listed as CEO on the HybridAdz website, a domain registered on August 14, 2013. No prior multi-level marketing history for McCormick exists as an affiliate or executive. The HybridAdz domain uses the name servers of Auflo, an earlier app marketplace with an attached MLM income opportunity.

Auflo launched in July 2013. Affiliates on social media named Tim Hays, also known as Timothy Hays, as the scheme's owner. Auflo charged $2.40 for matrix positions. It required a constant influx of new members to purchase these positions to keep matrices cycling. Each $2.40 "subscription" generated a new matrix position weekly.

On September 3, Auflo attempted to launch a revenue sharing scheme. This scheme quickly collapsed, and the company shut it down by September 14. Hays then introduced HybridAdz to affiliates in a September 7 email. He described it as "our first white label website by Deirdre McCormick."

Hays' email stated, "Hybridadz was built using a similar structure to AUFLO, except that it has a SUPER FAST 2x2 with double re-entries!!! 5X FASTER! - LIGHTNING SPEED! - $1.00 DAILY Subscriptions." The launch of HybridAdz, with its recycled script and "white label" cover story, followed Auflo's revenue-sharing failure, suggesting a need for new funds to sustain Auflo.

HybridAdz offers no retailable products or services. Affiliates join and then purchase matrix positions within the company's compensation plan. Each purchased matrix position bundles a series of advertising credits. These credits allow affiliates to display advertising on the HybridAdz website.

The HybridAdz compensation plan centers on affiliates buying positions across four 2x2 matrix levels. A 2x2 matrix places an affiliate's purchased position at the top, with six positions below it needing to be filled. Hybrid Matrix charges affiliates a $1 per day subscription. This acts as a mandatory daily purchase of a Bronze Matrix position.

The Bronze Matrix costs $1 to enter. It pays out $2 when full and a position cycles out. In addition to the $2 commission, the affiliate receives two new positions, and the process repeats. After an affiliate cycles out of ten individual Bronze matrices, they upgrade to the Silver Matrix
