The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) reported Speak Asia office bearers invested approximately Rs 100 crore in commercial properties and luxury vehicles. This revelation emerged during their ongoing multi-nation probe into the alleged fraud firm. Authorities seized two Mercedes cars, with plans for more confiscations.

The EOW had previously arrested Melvin Crasto, President of the All India Speak Asia Panelists' Association (AISPA), and Ashish Dandekar, Speak Asia's acting COO. Officials held both individuals, suspecting them of being company officials rather than mere employees, as part of the broader criminal investigation into Speak Asia's operations.

Around December 25, 2012, messages circulated among panelists on Facebook. These posts hinted at "surprise news" expected on December 26, suggesting an imminent development from the EOW. Panelists referenced a "special chocolate named 'EoW'" to be distributed by "Santaclose" on that date.

The Times of India then published an update on the EOW's investigation. EOW officials confirmed that Speak Asia office bearers had acquired commercial galas in prominent city shopping malls, flats in upscale buildings, and various cars. The purchases, totaling around Rs 100 crore, occurred over the past year.

Investigators identified properties in over a dozen buildings and shopping malls. Some flats were valued at more than Rs 12-13 crore each. Beyond real estate, the accused purchased expensive vehicles. The EOW seized two Mercedes cars and intended to seize more. This follows an earlier seizure in October of two Mercedes belonging to Manoj Kumar Sharma, an Indian chief and panelist for the firm.

EOW stated they would not disclose specific property details yet. Officials are securing these assets. Once the securing process finishes, the EOW plans to ask the court to attach them. This action typically precedes official charges against the company and its local Indian management. Manoj Sharma Kumar and Harendar Kaur, Speak Asia's CEOs, remain overseas, while Tarak Bajpai has disappeared locally.

The EOW also noted that some accused individuals continue to pose as victims. These individuals filed writ petitions in both the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court, asserting the legality of their business. Melvin Crasto, AISPA's President, remained in custody as the EOW investigation progressed.
