Cloud 2x2’s official website provides no ownership or operational details for the business. Its domain, ‘cloud2x2.com’, registered on June 7, 2012, uses private registration settings to conceal this information. Training videos, however, name Todd Hirsch as a co-owner and co-creator of the company. No other principals are identified.
Hirsch was a member of the $600 million Zeek Rewards Ponzi scheme, which recently stopped operations. He also describes himself as a "top earner" in Bidify, claiming the "#4 top earning" affiliate position. Bidify, a penny auction platform (Bidsson) tied to an MLM opportunity, initially used a Ponzi-style points compensation plan similar to Zeek. This plan changed immediately after the SEC took action against Zeek Rewards.
Hirsch stated in a recent video that he actively promoted Zeek Rewards and recruited new investors, fully aware it was a Ponzi scheme. He also claimed on Troy Dooly’s MLMHelpdesk to be a member of Banners Broker, another suspected Ponzi investment scheme. On his blog, Hirsch calls himself a "program jumper." He claims participation in about seven different programs concurrently and states he has joined over 50 programs since starting online marketing in early 2010.
Non-official marketing materials for Cloud 2x2 mention Mike Lavoie as the company’s other co-founder and owner. Lavoie previously launched "Revolutionary Matrix" in 2010, a 2x2 matrix recruitment-dependent MLM opportunity that is now defunct. In 2011, he launched "Social Power Network," another matrix opportunity, also now defunct. The Social Power Network domain currently redirects to a site called "ricishares." Lavoie averages one matrix-based opportunity launch per year, making Cloud 2x2 his 2012 MLM matrix venture.
Cloud 2x2 offers no retailable products or services. Prospective members can only purchase company membership, which Cloud 2x2 refers to as "e-pins." Each Cloud 2x2 membership bundles an 'xSky' email marketing suite, advertising credits, and access to a cloud-based data backup service. The company does not specify where these advertising credits are redeemable. None of these bundled items are available for retail purchase by Cloud 2x2 members.
The Cloud 2x2 compensation plan uses a 2x2 reverse matrix system to pay commissions. This matrix has seven member positions, with new members filling the bottom. When the matrix fills, the person at the top earns a commission. The matrix then splits, with the two member positions on level 2 forming the first level of two new matrices.
