Jobadiah “Joby” Weeks sentencing is scheduled for February 6th, 2025

Joseph “Joe” Abel’s sentencing is scheduled for February 4th, 2025

Silviu Balaci’s sentencing is schedule for February 20th, 2025

BitClub Network sentences have been continually delayed since 2021.

After
rejecting a plea deal
in 2020, Matt Goettsche has been out on release pending trial. Russ Medlin was
arrested on child sex charges in Indonesia
in 2020. Since his arrest Medlin’s status hasn’t been made public.

Gordon Beckstead
pled guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering
in 2022. Beckstead has yet to be sentenced and there is no scheduled sentencing date.

In related news, Joby Weeks (right) has a bail violation hearing on January 6th. The DOJ
first requested Weeks bail be revoked
in 2021.

In March 2024, Week’s Pretrial Services Officer downgraded his release conditions to home incarceration. In response the court modified Week’s release conditions to be “more restrictive” in April 2024.

Our next update will likely be on or around January 6th, reporting back on the outcome of Weeks’ scheduled bail violation hearing.

Failing which, we’ll either be covering the BitClub Network sentencings in February or noting more scheduling delays. Stay tuned.

Update 7th January 2025 – 
As per a status conference held on January 3rd, at the request of Week’s attorney the bail violation hearing is adjourned to January 22nd, 2025.

Update 23rd January 2025 – 
No update on Weeks’ bail violation hearing but Joseph Abel’s, Silviu Balaci’s and Joby Weeks’ sentencings have been delayed again.

Joe Abel is now scheduled for sentencing on March 12th, 2025

Silviu Balaci is now scheduled for sentencing on August 8th, 2025

Joby Weeks is now scheduled for sentencing on March 12th, 2025

No reason for the delays was provided.

Update 8th August 2025 – 
Silviu Balaci’s sentencing was reset for November 18th, 2025 on August 7th. No reason for the reset is provided.

There have been no further updates on Joe Abel’s or Joby Weeks’ respective sentencings (other than neither happened as previously scheduled).

Update 11th November 2025 – 
Silviu Balaci’s sentencing has been reset again for March 19th, 2026.
