Digital Crown Holdings Limited, founded in Taiwan in 2000, operates globally under the name Billion Venture International. The company, which claims an extensive network of 26 branches across 11 Asian countries and more than 500,000 business partners, recently began expanding its reach into the United States and Canada.
Chairman Kim Huynh leads DCHL. Huynh's executive biography states he was educated in France. He established DCHL after introducing the French fragrance lamp brand "Lampe Berger" to the Chinese market.
Huynh's marketing efforts for Lampe Berger reportedly generated half of the brand's global revenue. This success led to Lampe Berger granting Huynh exclusive agent rights for the Asia-Pacific region. DCHL has since broadened its Asian market presence and added other brands to its product line.
Despite its historical importance to DCHL, Lampe Berger is not listed among the products on the Billion Venture International website. The site instead features other French brands: Estebel for personal care, Ed. Pinaud for cosmetics, DeMelville for wine, and Inovital for micro-nutrients. These brands reflect Chairman Huynh's French connections.
The Billion Venture International compensation plan appears to conflate retail sales with affiliate purchases. Company materials group both categories together, which can mislead participants. True retail sales involve non-affiliate customers, a distinction not clearly maintained in the plan.
The compensation plan outlines six affiliate membership ranks. These include Member, the entry-level position. Franchisee status requires accumulating at least 10,000 PV from the recruiting affiliate. An affiliate becomes a Baron by generating at least 90,000 PV in personal sales or by recruiting at least five Franchisee-ranked affiliates. The Count rank requires recruiting at least three Baron-ranked affiliates and a downline generating at least 20,000 GV.
