AQR Quantify, an online platform advertising "quantitative trading," drew a pyramid fraud warning from the Central Bank of Russia on October 29, 2024. The scheme operates without disclosing any ownership or executive information, a common characteristic of high-risk investment platforms promising daily returns.

The platform uses two primary web domains. aqr-usdt.com was registered on April 25, 2024, with fabricated details and has since been abandoned. A newer domain, aqr-quantify.vip, appeared on October 24, 2024, also utilizing bogus registration information. Both domains were registered through Alibaba (Singapore), a Chinese registrar.

Evidence of Chinese language appears within the AQR Quantify website code. The consistent use of a Chinese registrar and embedded Chinese text suggests the operators have direct ties to China. This opaque structure makes it difficult for regulators or victims to identify those behind the scheme.

AQR Quantify offers no retailable products or services. Its entire business model revolves around the recruitment of new affiliates who invest Tether (USDT), a stablecoin. Participants are promised substantial daily returns, ranging from 33.33% to 35.71%, depending on their investment tier.

The scheme outlines ten investment tiers, labeled AI-1 through AI-10. For instance, an investment of 12 to 51 USDT in the AI-1 tier purportedly yields 33.33% daily. Higher tiers, such as AI-10, require investments from 32,222 to 99,999 USDT to secure a daily return of 35.71%. A free AI-0 tier exists, offering 0.4 USDT daily, but these funds cannot be withdrawn unless the user invests in a higher tier.

Beyond the promised daily returns, AQR Quantify employs a multi-level marketing (MLM) compensation structure. Affiliates earn referral commissions on USDT investments made by those they recruit. This system pays down three levels: 10% on direct recruits (level 1), 2% on level 2 recruits, and 1% on level 3 recruits.

The platform incentivizes larger downline investment volumes through bonuses. An affiliate generating 300,000 USDT in downline investment receives a 5,000 USDT bonus. This bonus escalates to 10,000 USDT for 500,000 USDT in downline investment, and a significant 49,999 USDT for 1,000,000 USDT.

Membership in AQR Quantify is free, but full participation in the income opportunity requires a minimum investment of 12 USDT. The operation presents itself as a "quantitative trading" platform. This is a common ruse. Users are instructed to log in daily and "click a button." The more USDT an affiliate invests, the more frequently they must click this button. This action supposedly generates revenue through algorithmic trading, an unverified claim.

Such "click a button" schemes, lacking verifiable trading activity, external revenue, and transparent leadership, consistently rely on new investor funds to pay earlier participants, characteristic of a Ponzi fraud.
