Air5 Networks launched in June 2016, presenting Matthew Davis as its owner operating from a Florida address. Corporate records in Florida show Davis as a "Manager" of Air5 Networks Holdings, an LLC established the previous year. George Burton and Charles R. Glenn are also listed as managers for the company.
Despite this initial lack of clarity about its leadership, the company's "founders" promoted the business opportunity before the official launch. Air5 Networks sells "digital technology products," specifically an OTT (over-the-top) stream box for $399. OTT content refers to audio, video, and other media delivered via the internet without traditional cable operator control.
The stream box requires additional monthly subscriptions to function. These services included a basic monthly fee of $59.97, cable service tiers at $79.97 and $99.97, internet service for $50, and VOIP service for $14. Air5 Networks did not provide technical specifications for the box or clarify the channel differences between its cable tiers at the time of publication.
Air5 Networks compensates affiliates for selling streamboxes and recruiting new affiliates. The compensation structure combines binary and unilevel commission plans. Affiliates progress through eleven ranks, from Silver to Black Diamond, each with specific requirements.
The Silver rank requires an affiliate to sign up with a Bronze or Silver Enrollment Kit and recruit two new affiliates, placing one on each side of their binary team. To reach Gold, an affiliate needs a Gold Enrollment Kit, two recruits (split between binary sides), and either eight retail streambox sales or four Silver recruits. Platinum requires a Platinum Enrollment Kit, two recruits, and sixteen retail sales or four Gold recruits. The Opal rank, however, only necessitates a $99 "non-commissionable" fee or an optional retail pack purchase, with no other stated requirements, which appears inconsistent with the demands of lower ranks.
Higher ranks, from Sapphire to Black Diamond, introduce monthly Personal Volume (PV) and Commissionable Volume (CV) thresholds. Sapphire requires 125 PV from subscriptions monthly, including the affiliate's own. Emerald status demands 250 PV and $2,500 in monthly retail sales across six unilevel levels, with a maximum of 60% from any single leg. Ruby requires 500 PV and $10,000 in monthly retail sales across eight levels, capped at 50% from one leg. Diamond status increases the requirement to 1,000 PV and $50,000 in monthly retail sales across nine levels, with a 40% cap per leg.
Blue Diamond affiliates must achieve 2,500 PV and $200,000 in monthly retail sales across nine levels, again with a 40% maximum from one leg. Red Diamond requires 125 PV (with a minimum of 75 PV from retail), the recruitment of four Blue Diamond affiliates, four retail customers generating 25 CV monthly, and $500,000 in monthly retail sales across nine levels, with the 40% cap. The top rank, Black Diamond, maintains the same PV and retail requirements as Red Diamond but demands the recruitment of four Red Diamond affiliates and $1 million in monthly retail sales.
To qualify for commissions, every affiliate must sell three streamboxes to retail customers or recruit three affiliates who purchase enrollment kits. An affiliate's own kit or streambox purchase counts as one of these three requirements. Retail commissions pay $50 for each streambox sale. Monthly service subscriptions generate $25 for the basic service or either cable tier, $15 for internet, and $10 for VOIP.
Recruitment commissions are paid upfront when affiliates purchase enrollment kits. A Bronze Kit ($399) yields a $25 commission. A Silver Kit ($699) pays $75. A Gold Kit ($999) generates $100. Residual recruitment commissions extend downline, paying $25 for a Silver Kit on level 2 and $50 for a Gold Kit on level 2, plus an additional $25 for a Gold Kit on level 3. Affiliates who recruit five kit buyers within 25 days of joining receive a $500 recruitment bonus, with no limit on the number of bonuses an affiliate can earn.
Binary residual commissions are calculated weekly based on sales volume in an affiliate's weaker binary team leg. Business Volume (BV) is assigned as 50 BV for a retail sale or a Bronze Kit recruit, 100 BV for a Silver Kit recruit, and 150 BV for a Gold Kit recruit. Payout rates vary by rank: Silver affiliates earn 10%, Gold affiliates earn 15%, and Platinum or higher-ranked affiliates earn 20%. If a lower-ranked affiliate earns a binary commission, the remaining percentage (up to 20%) is paid upline to the first eligible Gold or Platinum affiliate.
A matching binary bonus allows affiliates to earn a percentage of the binary commissions earned by their personally recruited affiliates. Silver affiliates receive a 10% match, Gold affiliates receive 20%, and Platinum or higher-ranked affiliates receive 30%. Unilevel residual commissions place personally recruited affiliates on level 1, their recruits on level 2, and so on, capped at nine levels. Air5 pays 5% on each accessible level, with accessibility determined by rank: Opal accesses levels 1-2, Sapphire levels 1-4, Emerald levels 1-6, and Ruby, Diamond, or higher-ranked affiliates access levels 1-8 and 1-9 respectively. An additional 5% bonus is paid on the single unilevel level that generates the most CV monthly.
Matching unilevel bonuses mirror the binary structure, paying a percentage of unilevel commissions earned by personal recruits. Sapphire affiliates receive a 10% match, Emerald 15%, Ruby 20%, and Diamond or higher-ranked affiliates 25%. A generation bonus pays 2% on up to four generations per unilevel leg. A generation is defined by the appearance of an Emerald or higher-ranked affiliate beyond level 7 of a leg. Emerald affiliates earn on two generations, Ruby on three, and Diamond or higher on four generations.
One-time rank achievement bonuses are awarded for reaching top ranks: Blue Diamond receives $25,000, Red Diamond $50,000, and Black Diamond $100,000. A global bonus pool, funded by five percent of monthly service fees, is distributed quarterly. Diamond affiliates receive 1 share, Blue Diamond 2 shares, Red Diamond 3 shares, and Black Diamond 4 shares.
Basic membership costs $99.99. Optional enrollment kits are priced at $399 for Bronze, $699 for Silver, and $999 for Gold, offering varying earning potential and bundled streamboxes. Before its launch, Air5 Networks offered a Founder membership for $1,450. Founder affiliates earned $200 for each new Founder recruited, indicating a strong emphasis on recruitment.
Air5 Networks does include some retail incentives, such as providing a discount or free service to affiliates with five retail customers on monthly subscriptions. Retail volume requirements are also integrated into the rank progression system. However, the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Enrollment Kits generate commissions when affiliates recruit other affiliates, suggesting these are affiliate-only purchases driven by recruitment rewards. These kits also directly influence binary earning percentages, which means higher income potential is tied to enrollment kit purchases rather than solely sales performance.
The Air5 Networks streambox itself appears legitimate, according to the company. It claimed a partnership with a licensed content provider for internet-based content, positioning itself away from typical piracy-related streambox operations. Consumers should compare Air5's subscription costs against local alternatives to assess its retail viability.
