James Ward, known for his involvement in several past multi-level marketing ventures, has launched 2SL Start Living, a company offering lifestyle packages priced at $50 and $397. Ward previously co-founded LGN Prosperity in 2010, which sold travel vouchers through a 2x2 matrix cycler. Affiliates earned $600 when their matrix filled, but by mid-2011, payouts ceased, and the company rebranded as LGN International, adding commissions on actual travel bookings before its collapse around 2013.
Ward then launched iBizWave in early 2014, serving as its CEO and co-founder. He publicly stated the new company would "greatly surpass what was accomplished with LGN" and "change tens of thousands of lives." iBizWave marketed a WordPress-based marketing software platform, with packages ranging from $50 to $750. Ward himself referred to a $675 buy-in as an "investment." While the company's website still exists under the MyBiz Toolbox rebrand, traffic data indicates it has been defunct for several years.
Now, Ward is focused on travel again with 2SL Start Living. The company claims its headquarters are in Bentonville, Arkansas, and states it is incorporated in both the United States and Colombia.
An affiliate membership with 2SL Start Living provides access to three condo booking portals and a general hotel and resort booking portal. These portals are operated by unnamed third parties. 2SL Start Living itself does not own or operate any travel infrastructure.
While members can book travel through these portals, 2SL Start Living's primary offering is not travel services. The company sells affiliate memberships.
Two main packages are available. The Lifestyle Package costs $50 upfront plus a $30 monthly fee. The Ultimate Lifestyle Package has an upfront cost of $397, also with a $30 monthly fee. Both packages grant the same access to the booking portals. The difference between them lies solely in the earning potential within the compensation plan.
Third-party travel portals may pay affiliates directly if someone books travel through their replicated website. This income stream operates separately from 2SL Start Living's multi-level marketing compensation structure.
Within the MLM framework, affiliates earn commissions by selling packages to new recruits or retail customers. A sale of the Lifestyle Package generates $12.50. Selling an Ultimate Package pays $100.
The compensation plan includes a 100% matching bonus on package commissions earned by personally recruited affiliates. This bonus activates once an affiliate recruits three people.
Residual commissions are paid through a binary structure. Each package sale generates Business Volume (BV): 10 BV for a Lifestyle Package and 75 BV for an Ultimate Package. Affiliates earn $10 for every 25 BV matched between their left and right binary legs. This payout rate is subject to reduction if total binary payouts reach 75% of the company's overall revenue.
Monthly subscriptions also contribute to binary commissions. Affiliates receive $10 for each matched pair of $30 subscriptions, again subject to the 75% company revenue cap.
A 10% matching bonus applies to binary commissions earned by direct recruits. To qualify for this, an affiliate must maintain at least three active monthly subscriptions within their downline.
Rank bonuses provide additional income, ranging from $100 monthly for a 2 Star affiliate (requiring three active packages and 40 team subscription payments) up to $50,000 monthly for a Crown Ambassador (requiring ten active packages and 5,000 team subscription payments). An "active" package means the customer or affiliate is still paying the $30 monthly fee.
A Leadership Bonus pool allocates 7.5% of company-wide revenue, divided into five pools based on rank. National Stars and higher ranks qualify for shares, ranging from 0.5% for National Stars to 2.5% for Crown Ambassadors.
Joining 2SL Start Living costs an annual fee of $19.95, in addition to the chosen package purchase.
2SL Start Living positions itself as a travel opportunity. The retail value proposition for customers appears unclear. Why would a retail customer pay $50 or $397 upfront, plus $30 monthly, solely for access to discount portals? The packages become more viable as a recruiting tool when an income opportunity is included.
This model presents a significant risk: the packages and monthly fees are primarily purchased by affiliates seeking to participate in the compensation plan. The requirement for affiliate membership to include a package purchase exacerbates this issue.
2SL Start Living currently offers a Team Builder Bonus, paying $2,400 to affiliates who recruit three individuals on the Ultimate package, provided each of those three also recruits three more Ultimate affiliates. This bonus structure does not promote retail sales. There are no retail sales requirements outlined anywhere in the compensation plan.
This exact issue led to the collapse of LGN Prosperity. Without genuine retail sales to external customers, the entire structure depends on continuous recruitment. The scheme implodes when new sign-ups decline, leading to losses for most participants.
Those considering 2SL Start Living should ask their upline about the ratio of retail subscriptions to affiliate subscriptions. If this ratio heavily favors affiliates, or if retail sales are absent, the structure resembles a chain-recruitment scheme. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) warns that these schemes are unsustainable.
